Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 - April 12, 1975): She was not only an extremely talented singer, dancer, and actress; she also served as a spy for France in WWII. Unable to have children of her own, she adopted 12 children from around the world and lived with them in a castle in France. She was married to men four times and also had several notable female lovers, including French writer Colette as well as Frida Kahlo.
She also used her influence to support the Civil Rights Movement, refusing to perform for segregated audiences and speaking at the 1963 March on Washington with MLK Jr.

German playwright, sexual and social progressive, influence of epic theater, actor, cabaret performer, women’s-rights supporter, mild bisexual, eroticist, and a total honey at age 19.
John Steinbeck!
This is a part of my final in my Modern art history class. People shouldn’t be ashamed of the fact that they bleed.

Camille Desmoulins (1760-1794), French Revolutionary and journalist, he was closely allied with Robespierre and Danton until he felt that Robespierre’s policies went too far and threatened the French Republic. He spoke out against the Committee of Public Safety’s policies and was subsequently arrested with Georges Danton. He was executed the same day as Danton. Desmoulins is also known for his legendary love story with wife Lucile. He wrote to Lucile in prison, “I dreamed of a republic that all the world would adore! I could never have believed that men were so ferocious and so unjust!”
He was also known for his beauty and charm.
He was so idealistic - and anyway - just look at him!
I only saw one Jim Morrison photo here so I’m submitting another one.
Here he is before the drugs, booze, groupies and beard took over.
And yes, he is the one and only dead guy I lust for. I even have dreams about traveling through time and meeting him. Is that weird? Then again, he’s the one who asked, “Where’s your will to be weird?“

Billie Burke, known to many as the beautiful Glinda in The Wizard of Oz, was the only child of a famous circus clown. After her stage debut in London at eighteen, she was an overnight sensation. She went onto New York to become “the toast of Broadway” as a musical comedy star, as well as the wife of Florenz Ziegfeld himself. At the time of filming The Wizard of Oz in 1939, she was every bit of 53 years old, but as she said, “Age is something that doesn’t matter, unless you are a cheese.” Throughout her lifetime, she appeared in more than 80 films and was said to be “the most photographed woman in the world.”

Self portrait of the debonair young Egon Schiele, an expressionist painter and protege of Gustav Klimt. Sadly, he only lived to be 28. Romantically, his death was a mere 3 days after his wife’s.
For those who prefer paintings of naked ladies, check out some of his other works. They are fabulous.
